Requirements
Summary:
Assists with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization. Evaluates all continuous improvement activities and implements plans to optimize performance and processes. Employs Lean methodologies and tools to accomplish business objectives
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze Production Processes: Evaluate current workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas of waste.
- Implement Lean Techniques: Apply methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and pull board methods to streamline operations.
- Educate employees on manufacturing process flow, lean principles and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitor and Adjust Strategies: Track the effectiveness of lean initiatives and refine them based on performance data.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation.
- Standardize Work Instructions: Develop and maintain documentation to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Lead Improvement Projects: Organize and facilitate Kaizen events and other continuous improvement efforts.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis: Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support Quality Control: Assist in designing and enforcing quality standards and procedures.
- Utilize change management techniques to ensure a high level of employee engagement and sustainment when changes are introduced.
- Effectively communicate process deviations
- Provide data to leadership regarding process non-compliance and make recommendations for process adherence.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Lean Methodology
- Demonstrated ability to articulate and design process-based methods in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with process improvement initiatives
- Communication and reporting skills
Special Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, will be regularly exposed to work near mechanical parts.
- May be exposed to wet or humid conditions.
- May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
- May be regularly exposed to high noise environments.
- May be exposed to extremely dusty environments.
- May be exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
Education / Training:
Minimum:
- Proven experience in lean manufacturing or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of lean tools and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. or equivalent professional experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Preferred:
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
