Overview
The Residential Neuro Specialist supports and motivates program participants in our residential brain injury rehabilitation homes as they address cognitive, physical, medical, behavioral and psycho-social rehabilitation programming goals. Employees support program participants as they work to develop behavioral compensatory strategies to assist in coping with manifestations of brain injury to include struggles with mental health. This engagement supports program participants in developing the skillset to return to lives of personal meaning where they live, learn, work and recreate in their chosen communities.

We are seeking professionally minded individuals who are looking for an opportunity to learn and grow with our expanding company. Extensive training is provided and includes national certification in brain injury services. Ideal candidates will have experience in human services, brain injury, or mental health field or are currently seeking a degree in these fields.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or working toward one) in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, etc. OR 2+ years’ brain injury experience
  • Experience working with individuals with brain injury, mental illness or other disability preferred
  • Driving requirement - Must have a valid driver's license and have a good driving record in accordance with company policy
  • Able to pass state and federal background checks, and a pre-employment physical and drug screen are required

Continued Education
Opportunities Unlimited is dedicated to the continued education of its staff members. As a full-time or part-time employee, you will be eligible for the following paid training:
- Extensive training before working in the homes
- Becoming a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) in the first twelve (12) months

Schedule

  • 1st shift- 6:30-2:30
  • 2nd shift- 2:30-10:30
  • 3rd shift- 10:30-6:30
  • Holidays (required)
  • Rotating weekends (required)

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be able to meet all organizational, local, state, and federal licensing and training requirements including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, MANDT, HIPPA, Universal Precautions, and Mandatory Reporting.
  • Must be able to attend periodic staff meetings and trainings after normal work hours and possibly weekends. Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds to provide physical assistance as needed.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft office applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be willing to obtain a chauffeurs license/endorsement. 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
