Senior Maintenance Manager – PERGO Laminate Flooring Manufacturing

Location: Garner, NC

At our laminate flooring plant in Garner, NC, we produce the most trusted flooring brands in the world (PERGO, QUICK-STEP, REVWOOD), backed by the innovation and scale of Mohawk Industries – the world’s largest flooring manufacturer. Our facility of approximately 100 employees operates with state-of-the-art, fully automated production technologies, delivering high-quality flooring solutions to customers across the globe.

We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager to lead our Maintenance organization and play a critical role in continuous improvement. This role is not only about maintaining equipment—it’s about leading people, driving strategy, and shaping the culture of a high-performing team.

• Inspire and develop a team of skilled technicians across Preventive Maintenance, Shift Maintenance, and the Supply Room.
• Build a culture of trust, empowerment, and problem-solving where every team member feels valued and engaged.
• Collaborate closely with production, engineering, safety, and quality teams to achieve plant goals.
• Serve as a visible leader on the shop floor, driving alignment between strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Strategy & Reliability

• Lead the development and execution of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance strategies.
• Implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Maintenance Excellence initiatives to increase reliability and uptime.
• Apply root cause analysis to improve long-term equipment performance.

Operations & Project Leadership

• Plan and prioritize daily maintenance operations to meet production needs in a fully automated environment.
• Coordinate emergency, planned, and routine maintenance activities with minimal disruption to production.
• Manage capital projects, upgrades, and facility expansions, including planning, scheduling, and execution.

Financial & Resource Management

• Establish cost-control measures to ensure compliance with budgets and forecasts.
• Optimize spare parts inventory and supply room management.
• Provide monthly financial forecasts to senior management.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Partner with Safety and Quality leaders to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
• Promote a zero-injury mindset by ensuring safe work practices, training, and equipment for all associates.
• Support and enhance plant programs for safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven leadership experience in maintenance or engineering management, preferably in an automated manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Experience with TPM, RCM, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
