Job Focus Areas:
This Education Program Consultant 3 is located within the Office of Federal Support and Grantee Relations – Statewide Monitoring and reports to a classified Education Program Consultant 5-A. This position leads on-site and desk monitoring reviews of federal and state education requirements as implemented by school systems. This position is responsible for leading the Title I Comparability reviews submitted each year by school systems. This position makes recommendations to the supervisor and assists in the development of reports related to monitoring functions. This position must be knowledgeable in CLSD, ESEA/Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) programs, Perkins, and the budget review process.
Candidates with the following skills are encouraged to apply:
- Extensive knowledge of school literacy efforts, ESEA/Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and CTE programs;
- Experience monitoring federal and state programs;
- An understanding of how to implement federal programs at the local/state level;
- Experience in report development;
- Experience training adults (teachers or district staff);
- Experience with the electronic grant system.
Position Duties
Seven years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Other Qualifications
Makes recommendations to the section supervisor and assists in the preparation of reports related to the monitoring functions within the Coordinated Monitoring Section. Reviews work product and provides input on current and new developments in the various federal programs where desk reviews are conducted. Assists in the collaboration with LDOE programs in the establishment of the monitoring schedule. This includes the selection of districts/charters for initial and follow-up visits through risk-based analysis. Collaborates and coordinates with staff on the monitoring process. Leads the collaboration with Literacy, Federal Programs and Student Opportunity staff in the establishment of monitoring protocols. Serves as team leader on monitoring reviews. Provides monitoring findings and report information to other team leaders and supervisor. Works with local education agencies in the coordination and avoidance of duplication of services. Participates in federally-sponsored trainings and webinars. Works independently on special projects or other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Work days are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
