The Manager of Strategic Accounts is responsible for the retention and continued growth of assigned accounts. Primary focus will be to meet and exceed targeted annual growth within portfolio while providing Legendary Customer Service. This position collaborates with various departments throughout the organization to develop strategic ways to provide positive customer experience and proactively seeking out opportunities to increase revenue.  

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions:

  • Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Provides Legendary Customer Service to our corporate target customers and larger potential customer base
  • Collaborates with leadership to identify Enterprise opportunities for revenue gain within customer base and executes said targets
  • Leads and motivates the sales team to meet and exceed annual rental targets and portfolio health goals
  • Sets sales goals and create strategies to achieve them within each reps portfolio
  • Monitors team performance and provides regular feedback and coaching including targeted ride alongs.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key clients and partners from the jobsite through executive leadership
  • Identifies net new market opportunities for growth and qualify customer needs 
  • Manages a specific assigned sales team for aligned success
  • Executes curated development programs for each assigned rep
  • Performs coaching where needed and work with HR to ensure consistent accountability
  • Trains and onboards new sales staff to ensure consistent performance and execution
  • Collaborates with marketing to align campaigns with sales goals.
  • Qualifies information/data from the customer in an effort to support the growth of sales potential 
  • Builds and maintains a successful budget/P&L structure within specific assigned account book of business
  • Creates value with safety initiatives in alignment with customers and Texas First Rentals
  • Develops and executes business plans using the SMART Goal with each assigned target 
  • Meets with the customer to review annual rate structure and commitment 
  • Prepares sales or other contracts
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of construction equipment and rental industry 
  • Expert knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales) 
  • Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills with ability to build long term business relationships
  • Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Driven and results oriented; business development, KPIs, and market expansion to meet corporate targets
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
  • First-class organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline oriented
  • Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, and communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience 
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations 
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with some college coursework or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Minimum of three years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. Three to five years of experience preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position directs and manages the employees within assigned business unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Travel: 

  • Extensive driving required; overnight travel required 
  • Valid driver’s license 

Physical Requirements:

  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc. 
  • This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

Work Environment:

  • This job is generally performed in a retail and office environment; exposure to computer screens; exposure to noise, dust, grease, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions
  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
