We are currently looking for an Associate Vice President to join our New York City team!
Job responsibilities:
- Oversee account work and manage a team of 3-4 people, providing client management, training, coaching, editing, mentoring and overall sound leadership
- Regularly develop and pitch story ideas aligning with client’s goals and a deep understanding of the needs of key media outlets.
- Provide strategic direction to clients and team
- Responsible for client satisfaction, strategic results and maintaining healthy relationship
- Edit all press materials, plans, partnership decks, meetings agendas, notes and reports.
- Provide strategic, strong and consistent media results and measurement
- Handle crisis communications with guidance from senior leadership
- Develop and maintain solid relationships with journalists, bloggers and influencers and ensure team is developing deep relationships that lead to direct results.
- Provide ideation on client campaigns, strategic events and partnerships
- Provide social media strategy, advice, research, campaign ideas and provide and/or supervise communications management
- Recognize and bring client issues to supervisor’s attention with a suggested solution
- Support with the development of new business opportunities
- Handle client issues independently
- Ability to perform research and analysis of clients and the marketplace
- Stay on top of current industry news and trends
- Supervise the creation of strong media lists and initiate high level journalist outreach.
- Support team in securing top-tier media coverage (print, digital, broadcast)
- Work in close collaboration with other Quinn leaders and team members to ensure consistency with overall company communications strategy.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in related field
- Six or more years work experience in travel/lifestyle PR, agency experience is a plus
- Minimum three years in a supervisory capacity
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, multi-tasking, unique work environment
- Proven ability to resolve client issues quickly and efficiently
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, multi-tasking, unique work environment
- Solid portfolio of secured media coverage to include national, magazine, newspaper, TV and online clips
- Comprehensive knowledge of the media, including industry-appropriate bloggers and influencers
- Working knowledge of social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)
- Knowledge of Web design, search engine optimization, and basic HTML are a plus
- Proven experience implementing PR campaigns and handling crisis communications
- Knowledge in travel, hospitality, food
- Be a team player, self-starter and passionate about PR
