About the Role
As an Inventory Specialist at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory control across warehouse and production areas. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy to ensure materials are properly tracked, stored, and available to support production needs. Your work will directly contribute to operational efficiency, production flow, and cost control.

You will collaborate with warehouse staff, production teams, and the Warehouse Manager to ensure material accuracy and availability while supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S. This is an on-site role located in [Insert Location].

What You’ll Do

• Posts production picking lists and consumes materials based on the Bill of Materials (BOM) to support work orders.

• Investigates discrepancies between BOM and inventory in PRD location.

• Puts away materials safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate organization in designated storage areas.

• Monitors inventory levels for cabinets, closet components, countertops, and doors to ensure timely replenishment.

• Tracks and maintains minimum and maximum stock levels to support production flow.

• Performs daily and monthly cycle counts in assigned storage and production areas to ensure accurate records.

• Contributes to 5S activities, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.

• Monitors consumables in production locations and balances inventory weekly.

• Utilizes the ERP system for receiving functions, material movements, and cycle count accuracy.

• Inspects incoming materials for damage and compliance, ensuring proper documentation and labeling.

• Maintains records of incoming materials and disposes of obsolete inventory as directed.

• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely to support warehouse operations.

• Follows all established safety procedures and company policies.

Who You Are

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.

• Some work-related inventory, warehouse, or production experience.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, and MES systems.

• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to work cross-functionally.

• Understanding of production procedures and inventory control processes.

• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
