Senior Manager - Fleet Services - Maintenance & Damage presso Avis Budget Group

We are looking for an Automotive Service General Manager who will lead our fleet maintenance and repair operations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.  This role will be responsible for overseeing   the service, repair and performance of the fleet services function   While also managing vehicle de-fleeting and preparing the vehicles for auction to maximize fleet utilization and profitability.  We are looking for a proven leader with a strong background in automotive service management, fleet operations and rental car maintenance with a passion for driving operational excellence

What You’ll Do:  

• Own and optimize the P&L for the maintenance and service function for the city/district  

• Develop, implement and communicate operating plans to maximize fleet utilization to business and company guidelines.  This includes directing and controlling the maintenance, repair and reconditioning of fleet vehicles, all activities relating to in-fleeting new /or used vehicles into the rental fleet and de-fleeting vehicles to sale, auction or other alternative channels. 

• Manage performance of technicians and clerical team against business plan by setting, communicating, monitoring and updating goals as needed for key performance indicators on a regular and consistent basis for service, damage, in-fleet and deletion, including, but not limited to, technician productivity, percent out of service, overdue idle cars, vendor cycle time, days to deletion and venue quality average grade 

• Forecast, budget and manage key financial drivers including, but not limited to, S&W per day, warranty recovery, and efficiently moving cars through all aspects of the maintenance and service process. 

• Partner and collaborate with the key fleet, field operations and other leaders to meet business objectives  

• Manage all areas of the employee lifecycle, including developing, motivating, recognizing, evaluating and managing performance to enable a high performing culture

• Excellent analytical, creative problem solving and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail, to breakdown complex problems to actionable plans   

• Strong financial acumen and forecasting skills 

• Proactive cross-functional leader and collaborative team player who is able to work in a fast-paced service-oriented work environment 

• Some travel may be required, depending on the location 

• 2-4 year college degree preferred (or Automotive Service General Manager equivalent experience) 

• Minimum of 2 years management experience in related field (rental car, auto sales or fleet management)
