Our Giles Chemical Division is the largest producer of magnesium sulfate, commonly known as Epsom Salt, in North America. Premier Magnesia and Giles Chemical are your essential magnesia mineral source, assuring consistent quality, technical expertise, and long-term reliable supply.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process orders, order changes, adjustments, and coordinates with other departments to provide service to customers.
- Enter, change, retrieve, and maintain customer information, product availability, scheduling information, status of purchase orders, etc. through the company’s various systems including computer data entry and files. Ensure that correct codes are used when entering information.
- Maintain account accuracy by processing customer adjustments as needed.
- Working within a team of other Customer Support Team members and other departments to find appropriate solutions.
- Work with external Sales team to escalate queries and concerns.
- Determine the quickest, most effective ways to answer a customer’s questions.
- Conforms to company core values and acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years in a customer service roll, call-center preferred
- 1-3+ years’ experience in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, accounting, or related field
- High school or equivalent, associate’s degree or higher degree preferred
- Preferred experience in manufacturing
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook…)
- Can- do & positive attitude
- A drive to build customer relationships
- Accurate data-entry skills
- Ability to learn new computer programs including ERP system
- Excellent organization skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as a team player
- Ability to multi-task and switch gears as needed
- Experience working with domestic trucking, international freight, or rail freight is a plus
- Minimal local travel between sites as required.
Work will take place primarily in an office. Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays and be on-call on occasion. The employee may encounter controlled air conditions with frequent air changes, environmental exposure.
