We’re seeking an independent, detail-oriented, self-directed individual with:Associate degree in health information science, Bachelor’s degree in health information management, or completion of courses in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 codingCCS certification, requiredRHIA or RHIT, highly desiredThree or more years of experience with surgical procedural and ambulatory care coding, preferredFive or more years of experience as an Inpatient Coder, preferably at an academic medical centerProficiency in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT-4/HCPCS and modifier usageKnowledge of APC payment methodologies, AHA Coding Clinic, and CPT AssistantAbility to orient and train new employees and studentsUnderstanding of all state and national reporting requirementsStrong communication, interpersonal, and prioritizing skillsComputer proficiency with Microsoft Office and 3M 360 Encompass softwareUCLA Health is a world-renowned health system with four award-winning hospitals and more than 260 community clinics throughout Southern California, as well as the David Geffen School of Medicine.
