We are looking for Clinical Technicians to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
Reports to and Evaluated by: Clinical Support Supervisor
Job Summary: Clinical Technician is responsible for maintaining the schedule and flow of the day for clients. Assisting clients as needed. Communicating and documenting information regarding clients as appropriate.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support and adhere to the NPI Code of Ethics, work rules, policies, plans and procedures to promote a safe and secure environment for the residents, visitors and employees of New Paths.
- Responsible for meeting with new clients, reviewing rules and expectations, daily schedules, medication protocols, taking vital signs according to protocols, and overall introduction to the unit.
- Responsible for providing a variety of structured and unstructured educational and supportive interventions to clients receiving services at New Paths.
- Responsible for implementation of the daily program schedule.
- Remain engaged with clients throughout the shift to promote personal growth and environmental safety.
- Assist clients with timely self-administration of prescribed medications according to policy and procedure.
- Document interventions and/or services thoroughly, accurately and timely according to policy and procedure.
- Perform client room checks as per protocol.
- Escort clients to and from all scheduled activities such as meals and smoke breaks.
- Verify and confirm accuracy of medications upon receipt to the floor.
- Verify narcotic counts with coworker at beginning and end of shift.
- During down time (clients are not on the unit):
- Audit med sheets/folders for proper storage of medications.
- Clean and organize work areas, client group areas.
- Communicate shift report both verbally and in writing to coworkers each and every shift.
- Participates in performance appraisal process by identifying professional learning needs and individual goals with supervisor.
- May assist in training other Clinical Technicians.
- Participate in staff meetings/team meetings/peer review as required.
- Participate in performance improvement efforts and other responsibilities as designated by the Clinical Support Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with staff and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Skill in communicating with a variety of people from varying backgrounds.
- Good written and verbal skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma.
- Two years’ experience with substance use disorder and/or mental health client populations.
- Experience with electronic medical record software.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking.
- Must be able to climb stairs, bend, use hands/fingers for fine motor skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.
