Overview:
Softtek Government Solutions is seeking an experienced Technical Writer/Proposal Writer with a strong background in information technology and federal proposal development. The ideal candidate will be adept at distilling complex IT topics—such as software and application development, data management, IT service management (ITSM), and cloud migration—into clear, compelling, and compliant content. This role requires a self-starter who can quickly understand technical solutioning, collaborate with SMEs, and produce high-quality written materials for proposals, white papers, and client deliverables. They will also work closely with the Growth team—collaborating with Capture Managers and Growth & Strategy Directors—to develop solution narratives and align proposal content with customer mission needs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
· Research, write, and edit technical content for federal proposals, RFIs, and white papers.
· Partner with the Growth team to transform information from capture and strategy leads into clear solution narratives that highlight Softtek’s capabilities and differentiators.
· Work with solution architects, SMEs, and capture/proposal teams to develop content that is compliant, compelling, and customer-focused
· Distills complex topics into plain language for a variety of audiences/stakeholders.
· Creates strategic UX copy across various platforms that is compelling, easy to understand and concise.
· Collaborates with executive teams and IT/Consulting groups to create a framework and process for continuously improving and testing new content.
· Repurposes content for a variety of audiences/stakeholders and uses.
· Performs quality control of content.
· Translates complex data into user-friendly text for print and electronic publications, such as SharePoint, portals, websites, and podcasts.
· Selects or recommends use of layouts, graphics, drawings, tables, exhibits, illustrations, charts, or storyboards to amplify or clarify publications objectives.
· Edits narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors and to identify logical inconsistencies that will require author attention.
· Establishes processes and materials to build knowledge sharing based on how information flows from products/product line managers and across the organization.
Skills & Experience:
· Strong ability to explain complex IT topics (cloud, data, DevSecOps, ITSM, cybersecurity, etc.) in plain, persuasive language.
· Must have experience in editing narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors and to identify logical inconsistencies that will require author attention.
· Must have experience in the application a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and scheduling tools.
· Must have experience in meeting with authors and other team representatives to review documents, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatible comments, and provide final publishable documentation.
· Demonstrated ability to distill complex research into short, compelling narratives

· A proven track record in creating, editing, or improving briefings and visual materials (charts, graphs, PowerPoint presentations, informational graphics)
· Advanced writing and editing skills
· A firm grasp of the challenges of communicating in the various channels available today
· Flexibility, ingenuity, creativity, diplomacy, and a willingness to learn and adapt
· Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, or other editing and GUI editing software.
· Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelors Degree-English, Communications, Journalism or a related field or technical discipline is required (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education).
6+ years of direct related experience supporting federal/commercial company.
Preferred:
STC/Technical Writing Certification/Society for Technical Communication
Content Marketing Certification
