Manufacturing Operations Manager
Directs, supervises and coordinates all assigned areas of production and related services through subordinates to achieve timely production quality products at the most economical costs and in the proper quantities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises through subordinates, over 50 employees and is ultimately responsible for personnel, cost, delivery schedules and operation within assigned areas. Develops and maintains an effective organization through selection, training, compensation and motivation of all personnel.
- Maintains and develops both a facility and workforce capable of meeting manufacturing requirements in the present and future to accomplish objectives in accordance with production and delivery schedules.
- Maintains and develops a facility and workforce capable of meeting all current customer or industry quality requirements. Seeks continuous improvement in achieving future quality standards as they are developed.
- Analyzes, appraises the effectiveness of all operations to ensure that established objectives will be met, that corporate. division and plant policies will be observed, and that prompt corrective action will be taken when necessary.
- Develops standards of performance, measures progress, analyzes delays or serious problems and takes remedial action.
- Maintains a facility in accordance with Facilities Management, which meets the Company's goals in the area of safety and good working conditions.
- Acts as liaison between management and workforce to keep plant supervision informed. Maintains highest possible level of employer/employee relationships.
- Promotes and enforces "team" concept among personnel in assigned areas.
- Develops and operating budget plan for each department and initiates action to operate within those fiscal plans.
- Interprets and administers company policies, work rules and regulations.
- Plans the use of facilities, equipment and personnel assigned to meet current and future manufacturing requirements.
- Solves problems involving workflow, utilization of personnel skills, machines and facility to ensure an efficient and expedient manufacturing process.
- Performs miscellaneous related duties and carries out special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Automotive industry experience and Supply Chain knowledge preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Products.
- Ability to supervise others.
- Professional Certification a plus
- Red X, 6 Sigma – must be able to problem solve
- Lean concepts and disciplines
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in broad engineering and manufacturing including 3+ years supervisory experience necessary.
- Automotive experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
