We Are Looking For
FDH Aero is looking for a Bid Manager who will be responsible for managing contract bids to include reviewing incoming bids with the Director, Sales; assigning value and strategy to each project; ensuring packages are priced competitively and reviewed for completeness before delivery to the customer. The Bid Manager will lead and develop effective strategies and tools in support of incoming customer LTA (Long Term Agreements) requests, ranging from simple price lists to full VMI requests. Coordination of these bid packages with Sales, Procurement, Quality, Finance, and Operations is an essential aspect of the job. Commercial Governance and oversight of all multi-year bids and proposals for Americas, EMEA and APAC regions. The LTA Bid Manager may be assigned multiple tasks on a daily basis.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Assist in the development of a winning proposal that contributes to FDH market growth and long- term profitability
- Coordinate bid responsibilities and requirements with appropriate business units in order to improve accuracy, win rates, margin expansion, and turnaround time
- Understand and communicate the key commercial aspects of the proposal to senior management
- Ensure ROI results meet or exceed company expectations
- Promote, participate in, and practice continuous improvement and/or process improvement efforts
- Conduct and/or attend regularly scheduled departmental or company-sponsored meetings or training, as required
- Use demonstrated critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and help create high-level strategies to increase win probabilities during the bidding stage
- Understanding essential sales functions such as running price and cost analysis, reviewing margin and return on investment, and ensuring all pricing and financials are clearly summarized during the bidding stage
- Take initiative to learn part numbers, series, and become proficient with all commodity groups
- Identification and selection of best fit source based on product quality, customer approvals, best cost, and overall supplier performance
- Ability to effectively instruct, coordinate and supervise activities of the department; ensuring that the goals of the department are consistently met, and ensuring that Company policies procedures and practices are followed; follows through on commitments; accepts responsibility for own actions, as well as the actions of others under their direction
- Clear and accurate data entry and documentation skills. Strong follow-through and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You Bring (Qualifications & Skills):
- 5-10 years of Sales, Operations, or Business Analytics experience in the aerospace industry
- Bachelor’s degree or experience is preferred
- Experience with Quantum software is an asset
- Preferred 7+ years in aerospace industry
- Required Advanced Excel Skills - proficient in analytic functions such as formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, graphing tools, and designs to create visual tables and charts
- Demonstrated ability to present information in a professional and effective manner
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, read, and understand terms and conditions of a contract required for proper administration of proposals and compliance
- Excellent organizational, time-management skills and execution
- Ability to be detailed-oriented and perform in-depth Technical/Professional research

Special Requirements:
