High-Level Overview
We are building a strategic pool of ESG and safeguards specialists from Francophone Africa to strengthen the environmental and social performance of climate-aligned infrastructure and energy projects.
Role and Responsibilities
Key Deliverables:
- Conducting environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs) in Francophone countries
- Ensuring compliance with IFC Performance Standards, World Bank ESF, and AfDB ISS
- Embedding ESG and GESI considerations in project design and implementation
- Advising DFIs, investors, and corporates on ESG-linked reporting in bilingual contexts
Requirements
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in environmental and social safeguards for energy or infrastructure projects.
- Proven expertise in ESIAs, safeguard policy compliance, and ESG integration.
- Strong knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, World Bank ESF, and AfDB ISS.
- Experience working in Francophone Africa, liaising with governments, regulators, and local communities.
- Bilingual French/English proficiency required; ability to prepare reports in both languages.
