Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a Partner of Choice for the Nebraska University System. This internship will work on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village. We are looking for this person to start approximately March 4, 2026 and work 10-20 hours during the school year and 40 hours during summer break.

The Vendor Services Intern will gain hands-on experience in supporting the Vendor Services Team, focusing on Service Level Agreement (SLA) management and Contract-to-Bill audits. This role provides exposure to the contract lifecycle, compliance auditing, and offers mentorship and professional development opportunities, all within an organization recognized for its commitment to its employees and its active involvement in the community.

What you will do: 

SLA Management Support 

  • Assist in tracking and monitoring vendor performance against established SLAs. 

  • Build an SLA library and best practices guide. 

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify SLA deviations and support corrective action planning. 

Contract-to-Bill Audit Support 

  • Review supplier invoices and compare them against contract terms to ensure accuracy and compliance. 

  • Identify discrepancies such as overbilling, missing credits, or unauthorized charges. 

  • Support the development of audit reports and summaries for internal stakeholders. 

  • Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance contract compliance and billing accuracy. 

To be considered for this position you must have: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Pre-Law or Law, Supply Chain Management, Finance or related field 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 

  • The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments 

  • The ability to work well in a team environment, and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers
