The project: Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, playing a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.

Subject matter expert and leader for risk management within assigned hub(s) supporting the development of high performing teams, best in class service delivery and effective engagement with wider industry and professional bodies to promote Mace and ensure that service offering continues to meet and exceed client expectations whilst outperforming competitors.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Accountable for the risk management performance of all service delivery for their assigned hub(s).
- Responsible for ensuring the portfolio of risk management services across assigned hub(s) are fully aligned with good practice and international ISO standards and reflected in control centre.
- Acting as a role model and mentor to others.
- Providing expert advice and support to all projects within hub and additional support to other hubs.
- Partnering with clients exceeding their expectations and building strong professional relationships.
- Acting as the risk management subject matter expert within assigned hub/territory.
- Managing and directs the delivery of all technical risk management services within assigned hub(s).
- Responsible for managing the delivery of risk management provision to deliver key strategic outcomes and sub-function KPIs, directly influencing strategic development of risk portfolio.
- Maintaining, cultivating and establishing a strong collaborative network, developing partnerships with key senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Managing, influencing and negotiating with key senior stakeholders (C-Suite and Board) on matters of strategic importance.
- Managing the implementation of a systematic performance improvement cycle to continually improve the quality of function/portfolio. Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll need to have:
- At least 15yrs or equivalent experience as risk management leader delivering a range of project risk management services on major construction programmes.
- Relevant university degree (e.g. risk management, engineering) or equivalent.
- Chartered (or equivalent) membership of relevant professional institution(s) e.g. association of project managers/institute of risk management.
- Actively engages with peers out with Mace within professional bodies and other forum to maintain professional knowledge and work across industry to advance the profession.
You’ll also have:
- Significant experience of effective risk leadership on significant/landmark/mega construction projects.
- Significant experience of leading the effective deployment of robust risk management strategies/frameworks and integrated project controls methodologies.
- Expert knowledge of risk tools, techniques and software (e.g., Active Risk Manager, riskHive, @risk, Primavera Risk Analyser).
- Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty or ambiguity providing effective consultancy to clients and other key stakeholders to drive effective outcome(s).
