About The Role

As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor of our Mayfield site, you will report to the Contistretch Superintendent and play a critical role working collaboratively with the maintenance and operations teams, overseeing the planning and execution of preventive and reactive mechanical repairs, while minimising downtime and promoting safety and efficiency.
 

You demonstrate strong leadership & problem-solving skills and have a deep understanding of maintenance systems and procedures.

Specific accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing, planning, scheduling and overseeing maintenance strategies, associated systems and repair activities to ensure the efficient reliability of all plant structures and equipment.
  • Ensuring breakdown readiness through active management of critical spares and offline equipment reconditioning
  • Effectively managing fixed contracts for specific assets & delivering the most efficient and cost-effective outcomes
  • Supporting the Contistretch Superintendent to improve the performance and reliability of Contistretch plant
  • Managing the maintenance spend in accordance with the Repairs & Maintenance budget and optimising resource allocation.
  • Maintaining the input and upkeep of the system’s master data to enable continuous improvement of the maintenance and planning function.
  • Embedding safe work practices to build a safety conscious culture within all maintenance activities onsite.
  • Supervising & supporting the team of maintenance technicians and provide leadership, guidance, and training.

 


An experienced leader with solid planning, organising & problem-solving skills, you value teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.
 

  • Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker with mechanical experience and/or Engineering Diploma.
  • Minimum 5yrs experience in manufacturing, heavy industrial or mining environment
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex maintenance problems with a sound understanding of mechanical reliability processes, maintenance techniques, strategy development & root cause failure elimination
  • Previous experience in managing maintenance systems and functions
  • Excellent influencing and communications skills are critical as you build effective relationships with contractors and suppliers.
  • Ability to priorities your time across multiple projects, whilst providing high quality of the work.
  • Working knowledge of SAP (essential) and/or CMMS planning systems, computer literate
  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, MS Project, etc.
  • Strong commitment to Safety and Zero Harm.
