Are you looking to start a rewarding career in security? We are hiring for Checkpoint Security Officer positions in the Sauget, IL area. Whether you're an experienced security officer or just getting started, we have opportunities for you!
Available Schedules: Full-time & Flexible schedules available.
Flexible Schedule Requirements : A Flex officer is available on call to pick up shifts for call off's and vacations. They must be available to work all days of the week for any shift. No Guarantee a officer will work more than 8 hrs a week. Flexible Officers Schedules vary based on the need of the client.
Flexible Officers will be considered for the next available open Full Time Shift.
Site Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license with 1+ years clean driving history
Preferred Skills:
Advanced computer knowledge (Microsoft Office/Google Apps)
Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure
Calm and effective communication during high-stress events
Organizational and multitasking skills
Availability to work nights and weekends
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to confirm identity through ID inspection
Ability to interpret X-ray scan results to identify prohibited items
Ability to use a magnetic wand to scan visitors and employees for prohibited items
Ability to scan outbound visitors and employees for potential theft
As a Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Education, Government and more.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
Additional Job Duties May Include:
High-level customer service and visitor assistance
Providing direction and leadership in emergency situations
Responding to alarms, emergencies, and incidents calmly and efficiently
Monitoring via radios, phones, intercoms, and computer systems
Completing detailed incident and shift reports
Emergency notifications and following site procedures
Working in various weather conditions
Assisting in training of new officers
Performing foot patrols, vehicle patrols, and stationary post duties
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
