This hybrid position is based in Columbus, OH. Candidates located near a Nationwide campus will collaborate in office 3 days per week and enjoy the flexibility of remote work the remaining days. Current Nationwide Remote Associates will also be considered.

The Government Sector Story Telling Leader is responsible for crafting and delivering the compelling stories delivered at finalist presentations for public sector retirement plans.
Core responsibilities include:
Develop the acquisition marketing strategy and story for government sector retirement plans and refresh it over time to keep pace with market trends, changing regulation and company offerings
Incorporate the story into finalist presentations by creating and maintaining a content library, coaching internal partners on how to tell the story and present, and managing an organized end-to-end preparation and delivery process to win bids
Partner with Finance and Proposal Response team to ensure marketing capabilities are reflected in pricing and RFPs and that the story is consistent in all touchpoints
Present and run demos in person and virtually for prospective clients at finalist and due diligence meetings
Create experiences that represent Nationwide’s strategic advantages for prospective and existing clients
Track and socialize changes and insights that will impact our government market business across key audiences, the market, technology, and the competition
Collaborate closely to win new business across many teams including sales, finance, marketing, relationship management, service, technology, legal, business development, etc.
Additional requirements:
This role includes travel, typically 2 – 3 days, 8-12 times a year
If a candidate does not live in Columbus, OH, additional travel once per quarter to Home Office will be expected
This role requires FINRA licensing: SIE and Series 6

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Leads in the development and execution of strategies and plans that ensure long term sustainable growth of the business. Synthesizes data and uses this understanding to support identification and innovation of business building solutions.
Leads sophisticated projects and processes within area of responsibility to deliver results with multiple target completion dates and shifting priorities.
Implements digital and traditional marketing tactics and media, including creative development process, planning, and execution.
Leads creative development and provides specific feedback on look and feel and develops strong creative briefs.
Monitors emerging innovative trends in content, design and marketing tactics
Reviews and analyzes customer insights and analytics and tools to understand and forecast market, competitor and customer needs and behavior. Helps to define appropriate target audiences, evaluate sufficiency, and effectively get results with data-based decisions.
Ensures programs are on strategy and on schedule.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/Associate Vice President/Vice President. This is an individual contributor and may manage a team based on organizational structure; may also lead virtual and project teams.
Typical Skills and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field; graduate degree highly desirable.
License/Certification/Designation: Technical insurance designations such as CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus. Additional licensing may be required to hold this position and associates will need to acquire the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the designated time period. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails to acquire required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.
Experience: Typically, 10 or more years related professional experience in marketing, field sales management, insurance or related field. Master’s degree may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirements as appropriate. Prior marketing development and project leadership exposure/experience preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of marketing methodologies, insurance and/or financial services products including regulatory environment, distribution systems, and customers preferred. Knowledge of product distribution methods. Ability to develop and review research studies, communicate research findings, market recommendations based on findings, develop and negotiate contracts/service agreements with internal/external contacts, and lead multiple projects planning projects. Ability to function independently or in a team environment. Demonstrates core marketing proficiencies, including strategy development, utilization of insights and analytics, building brand equity and developing effective marketing communications. Command of and ability to understand and deliver customer focus, operating capabilities, and strategic capabilities.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
