The Role

The Clerical Administrative Assistant is responsible for the provision of reception and clerical services to the Outpatients Department, booking patient appointments, telephone enquiries, registering patients with the service and assisting with the development and improvement of the Outpatient Service.

Selection Criteria

  1. Able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  2. Ability to work effectively in a busy faced paced environment.
  3. Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high level quality and customer focused services.
  4. Experience in computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite as well as previous scheduling experience preferable in a hospital/health care setting.
  5. Demonstrate sound problem solving skills and ability to prioritise workload
  6. Previous experience in a similar clerical capacity
  7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a busy team environment as well as autonomously
  8. Knowledge of Medicare billing practices preferable in a hospital outpatient setting.
