Author Tools & Support Associate (Temporary Position)

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Author Tools & Support Associate to join our team on a temporary basis. In this role, you’ll be the primary point of contact for supporting our volunteers & authors alike with tools and features that enhance their experience as well as troubleshoot issues that may arise in our IEEE Publishing Portal. You will communicate directly with authors, reviewers, and Editors, as well as collaborate cross-functionally, and contribute to improving our internal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between volunteers, authors/Editors, and internal teams, providing effective and timely support.
Communicate clearly and professionally with volunteers, authors/Editors, and staff internally to understand their needs and resolve any issues with the Publishing Portal.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to escalate bugs and feature requests as needed.
Assist in testing new features and products, ensuring they meet quality standards before release.
Leverage Jira to track and manage support tickets and bugs.
Participate in the full product management lifecycle, contributing to the ongoing improvement of our tools.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Strong experience with Jira and managing product development workflows.
Comfortable presenting to internal teams or stakeholders and clearly articulating technical issues to non-technical audiences.
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A background in product management or experience supporting product development lifecycles is a plus.
Background in peer review process and systems used to support it (IE, ScholarOne Manuscripts, Research Exchange), preferred but not required
Bachelors Degree

Salary Range:
$25-$28/hr
