General Description and Classification Standards:
Performs completion and submittal of permit applications based on construction schedule as provided by the project team. Maintains collaborative network with other municipalities, public works/transportation departments, and other governmental agencies that we submit permit requests to. Coordinate and secure the payment method (if required) to accompany additional permit applications. Summarizes data and provides commentary or observations based on analysis. Note: positions in this class may also lead other related administrative or operations processes within the organization provided they have a similar level of professional challenge.
Supervision Received:
Performs work under general supervision with review and advice from manager or a senior level professional.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Reviews permit applications for accuracy and compliance
- Submits permit requests to the appropriate authority for review and approval
- Communicates permit applications status updates to the project team
- Monitors permit duration and submit extension requests when required
- Reviews monthly statistics and data and prepares operating reports.
- Interacts with line staff, managers, supervisors, and external departments to discuss outstanding permit requests
- Performs other duties related to the management and submission of permit requests and other administrative tasks related to the area of assignment.

- Ability to review data and associated plans/drawings to identify the need for the requests and to confirm the completeness of the submittal(s)
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience - High School Diploma and 1-3 years’ experience in data entry in a construction, engineering, or development environment.
Licensures and Certifications - Valid State Issued Driver's License required
Preferred Requirements – Associate degree or two-year equivalent degree (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis).
3-5 years of experience in date entry in a construction, engineering, or development environment.
Work Environment: Required physical, lifting, and sensory capabilities are requirements to perform the job successfully. Typical environmental conditions associated with job.
Lifting Requirements:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Very heavy work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work Schedule:
This position follows the City’s hybrid work schedule policy as assigned by the Department of Human Resources Commissioner and requires in-person work at City worksites/facilities at least four (4) days per week, with the option to work remotely one (1) day per week, based on eligibility, departmental needs, and supervisor approval. The hybrid work schedule is subject to change at any time to five (5) days in-person work.
