Intuitive Machines is a partner on the NASA Engineering Services contract HSFTIC, which is the Human Space Flight Technical Integration contract. We are seeking a highly experienced Integrated Spacecraft Performance Engineer with 10+ years of aerospace engineering experience to provide systems performance analysis and integration support for NASA programs at Johnson Space Center.
The successful candidate will contribute to strategic planning, simulation, verification, and validation activities across spacecraft systems, working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide integrated spacecraft performance analysis for the Gateway Program.
- Balance system requirements across power, thermal, propellant, Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C), momentum management, microgravity environments, induced/natural environmental factors, communications, and visiting vehicle operations.
- Gather assumptions and inputs, run performance simulations and modeling tools, and generate results to support decision-making.
- Document findings, prepare reports, and present results to leadership and stakeholders.
- Serve as project representative at V&V forums in support of spacecraft qualification and acceptance.
- Support the development of verification and validation (V&V) plans, processes, and documentation.
- Develop and execute Gateway V&V processes, from drafting verification statements to event planning, execution, and closure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure requirements traceability, compliance, and closure.
Requinements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in aerospace system performance, analysis, or integration roles. Will consider 5+ for strong candidates.
- Background in spacecraft subsystem interactions (power, thermal, GN&C, propellant, communications).
- Experience developing and running simulation models/tools for spacecraft system performance.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear technical documentation and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prior experience supporting Verification & Validation activities in a Design, Development, Test & Evaluation (DDT&E) environment.
- Familiarity with NASA program requirements, processes, and standards.
- Knowledge of configuration management and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama).
- Experience interfacing with multiple stakeholders (NASA, contractors, and international partners).
