Harriman's, the Fine Dining arm of Salamander Middleburg, is looking to grow its team. Fine dining experience is preferred but not required, but the appropriate attitude is. Candidates should be disciplined with a desire for long term growth in the culinary field. There is ample experience and knowledge to learn from and room for growth for the right individuals.

Position Objective
 Participate in all the aspects of food preparation for different food and beverage operations with-in the resort.
 
Essential Job Functions
Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined methodin a timely and consistent manner.
Change set-up station with pre-determined mis en place required toservice the required prepared items.
Complete the storeroom requisition for items needed.
Ensure all equipment is ready for use. Ensure that line is ready for service. Prep additional items to bring counts back up to par.
 
Education/Experience
Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school or equivalent education required.
Certified cook or higher level preferred.
 
 Requirements
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primarylanguage(s) used in the workplace. Requiresgood communication skills, both verbal and written. Must possess basic computational ability.
Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers and kitchens.
Must be able to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
Proper usage and handling of various kitchen machinery.
 Ability to physically handle knives, pots, mirrors, or other display items as well transport up to 50 pounds to every area of the kitchen. Ability to perform cutting skills on work surfaces, topped with cutting boards. 
Ability to physically self-demonstrate culinary techniques.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reachother departments of the hotel on a timely basis. 
Communicate with guests, supervisors and subordinates.

Work Environment
Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment,communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and acceptconstructive criticism from supervisors. Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
