GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Programmer 5 – Data Integration Solutions Consultant to work in a hybrid capacity, with 2 days on-site per week at the Ohio Department of Aging in Columbus, Ohio. This position requires candidates to be located within commuting distance of Columbus and offers a collaborative environment focused on enterprise data integration and modernization.

As a Data Integration Solutions Consultant, you will be responsible for designing and implementing modern data integration pipelines, supporting system automation on Linux environments, and optimizing platform performance across Oracle and SQL Server systems. You will play a key role in the re-platforming of legacy workloads, governance enforcement, and enabling data-driven operations across the agency.

- Design and maintain integration pipelines to consolidate data and processes across multiple systems including Oracle and SQL Server.
- Re-platform and modernize existing workloads into a scalable, enterprise-level environment.
- Implement reusable automation frameworks for full loads, incremental loads, and change data capture (CDC).
- Build and manage layered data environments (staging, refined, curated) to support system consistency and reliability.
- Build and maintain cross-system data integration for unified information access across all agency-managed applications.
- Apply validation rules, quality checks, and access controls to ensure consistent and reliable data outcomes.
- Support and maintain metadata management practices including data dictionaries, glossaries, and lineage documentation.
- Enforce data retention and lifecycle management policies across integrated systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance across system integrations, queries, and workflows.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and orchestration mechanisms for automated processes.
- Provide DevOps support including deployment automation, version control, and rollback mechanisms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, system integration, or enterprise technology environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database (19c), including PL/SQL scripting and performance tuning.
- Proficiency with SQL scripting in complex environments.
- Solid experience developing Python scripts for automation and file handling.
- 5+ years of experience writing and maintaining cron jobs on Linux systems.
- 3+ years of experience managing and configuring Linux server environments.
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools such as SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), or equivalent frameworks.
- Experience troubleshooting Linux-based file transfers and system processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience working in public sector or healthcare IT environments.
- Working knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
- Experience supporting metadata and governance frameworks including validation, access controls, and data lineage tracking.
