The College of Earth, Life, and Health Sciences seeks a detail-oriented individual to oversee the finances, reporting, and operations of a long-term agreement between the University of Maine and the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service, titled “Finding Solutions to Reduce the Impact of Synthetic Organofluorine Compounds on Agriculture and Food Systems”. This agreement, with an annual multi-million-dollar budget, supports dozens of research projects alongside central services that provide common resources for those projects. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the finances, including procurement, personnel forms, annual budgeting, and cost share. In addition, the candidate will assist with the administration of projects, including building the portfolio of research on an annual basis, reporting, coordinating meetings and workshops, and supporting periodic conferences. This position will report to the dean and will work closely with other colleges and university departments to meet reporting, compliance, administrative, and financial needs. Typical hiring range for this soft-money funded position is $60,000 to $65,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Typically has a minimum education associated with a BA/BS degree with an emphasis in accounting plus a minimum of five years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in budgeting and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience working with a diverse group of constituents and providing high quality customer service
- Excellent technical skills including the use of file sharing systems, Excel, query tool, and databases
- High level of motivation and the ability to exercise independent judgment and set priorities in a fast paced and demanding environment
- Experience working with MS Office and Google Applications
Preferred:
- Familiarity with University of Maine System financial systems
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience working at a university
- Experience with grants
