Position: .Net Architect
Location: Austin TX USA || Hybrid
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced IT professional with a deep and diverse background in software development and production support, ideally spanning more than 20 years. The ideal candidate will be proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting legacy systems—including classic ASP and ASP.NET applications—and possess advanced database expertise, particularly in SQL and stored procedure analysis.
A strong command of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is essential, along with hands-on experience in earlier versions of the .NET framework and Visual Studio. The candidate should also be capable of migrating legacy web applications to modern, compatible frameworks.
This role requires exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and resolve production issues across various applications under tight deadlines. Strong communication and ownership are critical, including the ability to proactively engage with stakeholders to clarify issues, present solutions, and ensure timely resolution of incidents.
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance classic ASP and ASP.NET web applications.
Architect and optimize database schemas; write and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
Work with Entity Framework, SSRS, and SSIS packages.
Build and maintain Web APIs using .NET Core with a solid understanding of RESTful principles.
Utilize technologies including C#, Visual Studio, SQL Server (SSMS), TypeScript, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap.
Modify legacy applications to meet 504 ADA compliance standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and bugs in a fast-paced production environment.
Apply knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Work within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience with ArcGIS is a plus.
Experience Crystal Reports with older as well as newer versions.

20 Years – Proof of hands-on experience in software development, evolving through legacy platforms to current technologies.
20 Years – Experience with legacy ASP and ASP.NET web applications (include project names in resume).
20 Years – Expertise in SQL Server, database design, entity framework, schema design, stored procedures, and SSRS.
15 Years – Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML, TypeScript, CSS, and JavaScript.
15 Years – Strong knowledge of unit testing frameworks and tools; proficient in writing unit tests using nUnit framework.
10 Years – Experience with Crystal Reports, including working with older and newer versions.
5 Years – Proficiency in ASP.NET Core for building RESTful APIs.
5 Years – Experience in redesigning legacy ASP and ASP.NET 3.5 framework applications.
2 Years – Experience making web pages ADA 504 compliant.
2 Years (Preferred) – Prior experience working with the Texas Education Agency across several projects (include project names in resume).
1 Year (Preferred) – Experience using ArcGIS Software.
