Description
We are seeking Heavy Equipment Operator to provide maintenance and logistical support services to our federal customer. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience and familiarity with the U.S. Army Reserve maintenance management principles and metrics.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of diesel and gasoline powered equipment to include generators, wheeled/track vehicles, and semi-trailer combinations up to 70-ton capacity
- Operate various types of forklifts and equipment to complete loading, unloading, warehousing and preparing equipment and supplies for transport
- Receive incoming warehouse items and equipment and check them for damage and serviceability
- Issue/receive equipment; store equipment in the warehouse; load outgoing equipment
- Prepare documents and warehouse reports
- Performs property accountability and asset visibility functions
- Maintain both hard and digital copies of supply records in accordance with Army standards
- Provide technical and administrative functions, in conjunction with performing supply management in an automated logistics environment
- Reconcile hand receipts and catalog property while maintaining property book records
- Respond to routine and non-routine requests for information such as status reports, suspense dates for material and equipment acquisition and transfers
- Coordinate property and equipment disposition
- Assist and support management team with handling and resolving issues with Government property
- Generate data reports as necessary, answer phone calls and record messages
- Create and type office correspondence using a computer
- Serve as subject matter expert and participate in project teams
- Communicate with employees using clear and professional language and review written documents for accuracy; maintain positive work relationships with employees
- Performs other duties assigned to meet organizational and operational objectives
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
• High level of Customer Service skills
• Ability to work in a Team atmosphere
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• 2 years of experience operating warehouse equipment (forklifts, etc.) as well as operating Class A/B commercial vehicles
• Physical ability to climb in and out of equipment and lift loads up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work in all-weather elements, including heat and cold
• 2 years of experience in Supply and Inventory support
• Computer literate with capability in email and MS Office Suite Knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Meticulous organizational, time management skills and attention to detail
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Military supply and/or motor pool experience is a plus.
• This position requires a Personnel Security Investigation
