Job Summary
The Director of Construction is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the regional management team, ensuring continuous order fulfillment and improving construction efficiency. This role ensures SLA and business needs are met and field personnel are receiving adequate support. This position will represent the company within the geographic area to promote a positive image of the Company.
Qualifications
- Ability to meet background requirements and pass drug screen.
- Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company standards.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ten (10) + years of Telecommunication Construction experience; minimum of 5 years formal managerial experience.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to supervise and motivate others.
- Ability to communicate effectively within all levels in the organization.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines.
- Decision making and problem-solving skills, even when working under pressure.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Day-to-day supervision & oversight of the Senior Construction Managers, Construction Managers & Operating Centers within a set geographical area.
- Monitor OT, Mileage, Staff & Expenses.
- Manage team order fulfillment by region and cross functional internal teams across a geographically disperse areas.
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to enhance the customer experience and complete construction work following customer specifications.
- Establish operational objectives and procedure plans and delegate group assignments.
- Ensure each Operating Center is following business rules, processes and sub-processes for factors such as completion, close-out and invoicing.
- Meet with assigned managers/ assistants and supervisors weekly to review standards, goals, QC results and performance metrics.
- Consistently provide feedback and direction to staff to counsel employee development, engagement and business knowledge; complete bi-annual performance appraisals/reviews.
- Maintain revenue and expense budget objectives and implementation of new and existing company processes.
- Has solid understanding of the business/department and can pull P&L/budget levers to ensure revenue goals and expense targets are met (i.e., able to manage departmental P&L/budget).
- Able to articulate business/departmental KPI’s to work groups (i.e., can clearly set goals/objectives for positive impact).
- Facilitate process improvement initiatives using measurements, accountability, and analysis.
- When required, accompany managers and/or field personnel to complete escalated and VIP work.
- Manage ongoing operational support, communication and implementation of products processes, system enhancements and software releases and provide business requirements to support system enhancements.
- Develop a disciplined, detailed and structured team to drive a high-performance culture and environment.
- Responsible for maintaining effective working relationships with both external and internal customers.
- Serve as an escalation point for business partners to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Partner with human resources on workforce planning, organizational design, workforce issues, talent management, learning and development, and employee engagement activities.
- May develop or modify departmental policies and procedures to support the organization.
- Follow and enforce the Company’s policies and procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Office and Field environment – exposure to extreme heat or cold is likely.
- Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.
- Travel between markets as needed.
