About the Department
College Navigators provide outreach and assistance to college applicants throughout the student onboarding process. College Navigators will be expected to provide quality individualized student experience for new applicants as well as connecting them to on and off campus support resources as appropriate. To accomplish this, and to support the one-college model, College Navigators will work closely with Curriculum and Workforce Continuing Education faculty and staff to become knowledgeable of college-wide program offerings, opportunities, and support services to effectively navigate applicants. College Navigators serve as the face of the college in all matters concerning the enrollment process.
Position Duties

- Engage and inform prospective students utilizing the one-college model on Curriculum and Workforce Continuing Education program offerings and on and off campus support services via in-person, phone, and virtual appointments.
- Maintain relationships with local community organizations and agencies to connect support resources to applicants in need.
- Provide quality individualized assistance throughout the student onboarding process for assigned applicant caseload.
- Schedule student onboarding appointments with applicants daily.
- Analyze applicant interest/needs survey and utilize results to provide individualized support and resources as appropriate.
- Connect new students with their academic advisor based on college placement and selected program or course of study.
- Work with student records within Colleague and when applicable, register students for Workforce Continuing Education courses.
- Serve as point of contact for student advocacy referrals and assist students with their various needs to include connecting with the appropriate resources (on and off campus).
- Advise returning “Academic Probation” students during onboarding and serve as back-up support for Academic Probation advising if assigned advisor is unavailable.
- Practice efficient use of technology for departmental processes and communication.
- Participate in professional development opportunities for Admissions and Student Onboarding department staff.
- Serve as a member of the college’s enrollment team.
- Work closely with Student Services staff to be aware of incoming applicant needs and trends.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Student Onboarding or the VP of Student Services.
