How you’ll make a difference:
As a member of the Corporate Security team, you would be responsible for providing a secure environment that protects employees, stakeholders and assets from workplace violence and other associated security issues.
Your Security Representative responsibilities:
• Provide customer service as the first point of contact for all clients and visitors.
• Ensure all personnel entering the WCB buildings have appropriate identification.
• Comply with and enforce rules and regulations governing WCB property, staff, and assets.
• Operation and monitoring of CCTV equipment, duress alarms, fire alarms, access control and intrusion alarms.
• Provide assistance when the Emergency Response Plan is activated.
• Monitor meetings between clients and their Case Manager.
• Administer the Safe Walk Program.
• Respond to medical emergencies and administer standard First Aid and Automatic External Defibrillator as required.
• Respond to after hour alarms on a rotational basis.
• Perform and document inspection patrols of all facilities occupied by WCB staff.
• Administer the booking of meeting rooms and AV equipment.
• Issue and maintain records of all key and card access transactions.
Your experience and skills:
• High school diploma supplemented with a certificate/diploma in Security Management.
• Considerable related experience in a similar environment.
• Must possess a Government of Alberta issued Security Services & Investigators Act License.
• Knowledge and skills in criminal law, police & security procedures, and arrest and control tactics would be an asset.
• Emergency first aid is necessary; knowledge of the Automatic External Defibrillator would be an asset.
• Superior communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to do rounds around and within the buildings. The candidate must also be able to respond quickly to emergencies.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and have the ability to work shifts.
• General computer skills.
• Must have a valid Alberta issued driver’s license.
• Equivalencies may be considered.

Salary: $53,199.00 ($28.11/hour) to $59,125.00 ($31.246/hour) per annum (Pay Grade 6)
Final candidates for this position are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment. Successful candidate must reside in Alberta and this position requires you to work in-person in our Edmonton downtown (Millard Health) office.
