Role Summary/Purpose:

The SVP, Integration Engineering role is responsible for engineering strategy, architecture and delivery of new client introductions, M&A activities, and SYF Ventures.  This leader will partner closely with the Business Strategy and Development organization to align engineering strategy with new opportunities.  This leader is empowered to make technical and architecture decisions while meeting with new potential clients, and must have a strong knowledge of Synchrony systems and relationships with all agile teams/trains to drive change.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create and drive engineering strategy and delivery of new client introductions, M&A activities, and SYF Ventures

  • Partner with BS&D organization to make sure engineering strategies are aligned to business opportunities

  • Lead direct engineering teams in the support of the Integration efforts

  • Architect solutions to enable new client, M&A, and ventures efforts

  • Represent Engineering organization in client prospect discussions

  • Ensure integration designs are scalable, secure, and reusable

  • Responsible for all direct integrations with partners through our API gateway. 

  • Drive the technical strategy for the Synchrony developer portal to enable easy integration for our partners

  • Responsible for operational duties of our API gateway including 24x7 on call support and accountability for strict SLA’s.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of Technology/Engineering experience; OR in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 12 years of experience in Technology/Engineering

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in financial services/banking, with a focus on architecting and designing comprehensive solutions in collaboration with internal teams and/or external partners

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience leading teams with a focus on mentoring, coaching, and influencing team members at all levels to foster professional growth and high performance

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a strategy and execution of critical engineering initiatives that advance the company’s technology roadmap.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proven track record of partner integration experience

  • Experience in in Scaled Agile Delivery methodologies

  • Ability to link technical decisions with business outcomes

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communications skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to solve unique and complex problems that have broad business impact and align with organizational goals.

Grade/Level: 15

The salary range for this position is 200,000.00 - 330,000.00 USD Annual.  This position is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan target of 25% of salary and an Annual Equity target of 25% of salary.  

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
