Job Description:

The Technical Consultant role is a strategic liaison between the Value Stream and the Product & Engineering function, ensuring business objectives are enabled through appropriate technology solutions. Responsible for providing expert advice and helping shape solution architecture, the Technical Consultant will drive technology engagement throughout the Value Stream. They will act as the trusted advisor to the Value Stream leadership team, ensuring alignment between strategic goals and technical solutions.
 

Technology Consulting & Advisory

  • Serve as the primary technology contact for the Business Unit (Value Stream).
  • Act as the trusted advisor to the Business Unit (Value Stream) leadership team on technical solutions.
  • Translate business objectives into a technology roadmap in collaboration with Solutions Leads.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, AI and analytics to enhance Business Unit (Value Stream). performance

Presales & Commercial Support

  • Lead technical input into RFIs, RFPs and solution proposals.
  • Partner with Sales and Solution Leads to shape compelling, scalable and cost-effective offerings.
  • Support business case development and solution dispositioning.

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Lead the scoping and high-level design for technical initiatives within the Business Unit (Value Stream).
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team and Solutions Leads to design technical solutions.
  • Ensure alignment with architectural standards and platform capabilities.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with Business Unit Solution Leads, Product Owners and Business Analysts.
  • Act as a conduit between business and technology teams, ensuring understanding and alignment.
  • Educate stakeholders on emerging technologies and their potential impact.

Governance & Risk

  • Contribute to prioritisation and roadmap planning across platform teams.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards.

Coninuous Improvement

  • Contribute to enterprise-level technology strategy by feeding insights from the Business Unit (Value Stream).
  • Drive innovation opportunities by identifying gaps, inefficiencies and emerging tools.
  • Promote re-use of digital assets and platforms across the organisation.

Working Pattern & Location

  • 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Qualifications:
  • 8+ years in technology leadership, solutions architecture or technology consulting roles.
  • Proven experience engaging stakeholders at senior levels e.g. C-suite, divisional business leaders.
  • Track record in presales or commercial activities, including shaping technology solutions for proposals.
  • Hands-on experience designing end-to-end technical solutions including applications and integrations.
  • Understanding of business value related to technical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms, integration patterns and enterprise architecture.
  • Commercial acumen, with ability to assess ROI and value of technology investments.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Agile methodology (SCRUM an advantage).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, strategic and coordination skills.
  • Customer focus and empathy, with the ability to understand customer needs and preferences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in business, Technology Management or similar (desirable).
