Job Title: Purchasing Assistant



Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement team. The ideal candidate will assist in the purchasing process, ensuring that materials and supplies are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the procurement of goods and services by preparing purchase orders and tracking order status.

- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.

- Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and resolve any issues related to orders.

- Collaborate with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of products.

- Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory management to prevent stock shortages.

- Support the purchasing team in analyzing market trends and supplier performance.


Skills and Qualifications:

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

- Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.


Education and Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in business or related field preferred.

- Previous experience in purchasing or administrative support is a plus.

Requirements

  • One year of related experience.
  • Must be computer-literate.

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Word Processing and data entry skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to read and write, follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Excellent attention to detail.


Mental and Physical Requirements:


Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with preparing and analyzing data and figures, performing accounting work, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading.


While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands and/or wrists.


Work Environment:


Work is performed in an office setting where there is no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
