About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can work well under pressure to meet demanding deadlines with little or no supervision to fill the position of Facility and Ground Support Equipment Manager. The Facility and Ground Support Equipment Manager oversees the maintenance, operation, and management of all facility and ground support assets to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role involves developing and implementing maintenance schedules, managing budgets, supervising a skilled team, and coordinating operations to minimize downtime. The manager prioritizes safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork to support the organization's operational goals. The Facility and Ground Support Equipment Manager is supervised by and reports to the Director of Maintenance. This position is based at Bridger Aerospace HQ in Belgrade, MT and is full-time.
Attendance Expectations: A 40-hour work week is standard, with occasional after-hours, weekends and holidays being required. Travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately tracks, assigns, and performs recurring maintenance and inspections of Facilities, company Vehicles, Mobile Repair Unit’s (MRU), and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
- Maintains maintenance schedule for MRUs and MRU trucks to include coordination with stores and maintenance departments.
- Communicates with Stores, Operations, and Maintenance Team MRU assignments, maintenance required, and schedules for fire season deployments.
- Monitors and documents all discrepancies, prioritizing safety above operational needs, and ensures repairs are scheduled promptly or in alignment with operational requirements and resource availability.
- Maintains a budget for all scheduled maintenance and improvements.
- Responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling of MRU CDL drivers for fire season operations.
- Manages department workload and assigns tasks to ground support techs as needed based on priority.
- Manages and Maintains Four-Season Grounds Maintenance; not limited to Snow Removal, Parking Surfaces, and Landscaping upkeep.
- Coordinates building maintenance contractors and responsible for TSA/AOA procedure adherence by the Contractor.
- Maintain MRU fleet for 12-month dispatch availability, with Entire Fleet availability from March 1 through November 1.
- Oversee all building operations, OSHA building requirements, maintenance contractors covering repairs, refurbishments, and the maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, safety equipment and waste management systems.
- Ensure building operations meet service standards and comply with all local laws and regulations.
- Monitors building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or trade certification preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with managing multiple contract vendors
- Ten+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, GSE maintenance, or vehicle service
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to troubleshoot common vehicle and facilities systems
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
- Experience with trailers and mobile service units a plus
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Must pass criminal background check
- Ability to be insured to drive company vehicles
