Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting the Testing Center Manager and coordinating the day-to-day Testing Center operations.
Assists with developing the yearly testing calendar and schedules rooms for testing.
Under direction of the Testing Manager, supervises the administration of special and national testing programs such as ACT as well as assisting with logistics of administering such exams.
Coordinates the proficiency credit process including posting of student credits, processing check requisitions for the involved faculty, and maintains a record keeping process for associated documentation.
Maintains fiscal records and the audits of all money transactions occurring in the Testing Center.
Responsible for ordering, record keeping and correspondence regarding aptitude, interest and psychological testing as well as resources for the NLN entrance exam.
Collaborates with the ADS office to assure materials needed for specialized, accommodated testing are distributed.
Administers, scores and reports scores for group and/or individual tests, such as Assessment tests, make-up examinations, career/vocational tests, tests proctored to persons who are enrolled in independent study programs from various colleges and universities, the NLN entrance exam, and testing for students with approved testing accommodations.
Develops promotional plans including outreach, marketing, testing schedules and calendars.
Schedules and trains non-Harper College employees as test proctors for third party testing companies such as ACT.
Initiates phone and/or email correspondence that was collected overnight with students and faculty members at the start of each workday.
Responsible for fulfilling the records retention process as outlined by the Illinois Secretary of State’s office.
Conducts periodic inventory and maintains security of test materials. Orders supplies as needed, and navigates the purchase order process when necessary.
Liaisons between the Adult Education Department and the Cook County GED Department regarding students that fulfill the Constitution requirement for GED certification.
Suggests and implements performance initiatives.
Provides assistance with special projects as needed.
Participates in weekly center meetings and in service training.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School graduate or equivalent with training in office skills. Some college coursework helpful.
Experience: Three years of experience with college operations preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft computer applications, and standard accounting/bookkeeping procedures helpful.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 12 p.m. - 7 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
