WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Cybersecurity Systems Engineer is responsible for securing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure with an emphasis on Microsoft Azure services. This position manages security tools, monitors and responds to threats, and supports systems administration functions in both on-premises and cloud environments. Key responsibilities include working with the IT team to administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Azure VMware Solution (AVS); while working with the team managing backups and storage systems; and implementing cybersecurity best practices.

JOB DUTIES: 

  • Monitor and respond to security alerts from tools like Adlumin SIEM
  • Manage and maintain endpoint protection, currently with ESET, while preparing for a transition to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
  • Perform vulnerability scans, coordinate patch management, and handle remediation efforts
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including Zero Trust and least privilege
  • Manage IAM and access control policies using Azure AD/Entra ID and Group Policy
  • Assist with security compliance (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, etc.)
  • Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats and trends
  • Work with a team to administer and maintain Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environments
  • Support and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments and user experience
     Collaborate on infrastructure running in Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
  • Monitor and support Pure Storage arrays (health, performance, capacity)
  • Perform backups and ensure recovery readiness using Veeam
  • Contribute to provisioning, patching, device support, and user account management
  • Automate recurring tasks with PowerShell or similar scripting tools
  • Participate in the planning and execution of cloud migration and modernization efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of experience in IT, with 3+ years in security or infrastructure roles
  • Solid understanding of Windows-based environments and Active Directory
  • Experience with endpoint protection, network security, and cloud-based security tools
  • Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall/security group configurations
  • Experience in hybrid cloud environments (on-prem + Azure)
  • Ability to follow and enforce compliance standards
  • Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility. This includes maintaining a clean driving record, which will be verified through a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience with Microsoft Azure, especially AVD, AVS, and Entra ID
  • Familiarity with Adlumin SIEM or other modern security monitoring platforms
  • Antivirus experience with ESET and/or Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
  • Hands-on experience with Pure Storage (FlashArray) and Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Familiarity with Citrix environments (app publishing, user profiles)
  • Basic working knowledge of Linux 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ramps, steps ladders, stairs using three- point contact. Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 40 lbs.
  • Operate office equipment requires repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.


HOURS & WORKDAYS:

1st Shift – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Overtime, Weekends, and Holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotating workday/time off schedules may be mandatory depending on department/business needs as well.
