Job Title: Warehouser

Pay Rate:      $20/hr - $22.35/hr DOE (depending on experience)

Hours of Work: Day shift 9:00am to 5:45pm

Location:      5105 S.E, 25th Ave. Portland, OR

Representation:  After 30 days, required to become a dues paying or financial core member of Int. Brotherhood of Teamsters Union #206.

Job Summary:
Will work to accomplish tasks such as forklift operation, cleaning, marking and moving material, pulling and packing material for orders, constructing shipping containers, putting stock away and backup truck driving responsibilities for non-CDL, 26 foot flatbed truck. For qualified candidates, CDL-A certification and specialized training opportunities are available and can lead to higher base pay.

Must be able to work train on Day shift and work Swing shift.

Work overtime when required.

Willing to comply with company rules and policies.

Pass pre-employment drug screen and DMV Motor Vehicle Driving Record check.

Must be able to apply and receive a CDL Medical Card for interstate travel


Required Essential Job Skills/Experience:

Able to do simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Able to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16”.

Able to comprehend written and verbal instructions in english.

Able to write and print legibly.

Lift and carry up to 70lbs regularly and heavier weight occasionally.

Physically able to climb stairs and ladders.

Must be able to operate a forklift and have previous experience.

Must be able to be backup driver (non-CDL) for 26 foot flatbed truck at the warehouse as needed

Required Essential Job Functions/Duties:

Determine material required for order. Warehouser will be responsible for their own orders as well as checking orders of other Warehousers and Associate Warehousers.

Will assist or pull stock for order. May use a forklift, side loader or pendant operated overhead crane.

Will use abrasive or band saw to cut material to customer specification. Check dimensional accuracy of parts with tape measure to tolerance of 1/16”. May occasionally use micrometer to measure thickness of material or inside/outside diameter of tubing.

May use waist height cart to load items for order, depending up on size, weight or length of material.

Take item to packing area (31” high table) and determine proper packaging requirements. Count items to verify inventory to be shipped. Packaging may include the following: strap and wrap measure and cut cardboard tubing to fit dimensions of material, or assemble other shipping containers; verify items of invoice when packaging; mark material and shipping containers and place documents on outside of container.

Keep area clean and organized.

Load and unload trucks, and be backup driver (non-CDL) 26 foot flatbed truck as needed.

Desirable Job Skills/Experience:

Experience operating a side loader.

Shipping/receiving experience.

Experience operating metal cutting saws and shears.

Able to measure accurately with a micrometer.

Knowledge of corrosion-resistant metals.

Experience moving long loads.

Experience with driving 26 foot flatbed truck

    This work is defined in the medium strength category.  This work requires continual handling of various weights as work order varies.  Standing and walking are the inherent features of this work when retrieving, cutting and shipping orders.  Some intermittent sitting may occur when operating the forklift or side loader.
