Job Summary Overview
The position is responsible for serving as a leadership role in the management of the commercial lending groups of Arizona Financial Credit Union. The position is responsible for managing the commercial lending directors and their respective teams responsible for the origination of new commercial loans, relationships, and the strategic and tactical execution of the commercial loan production and profitability. Additionally, the position will support the teams as needed as loan requests move though the production process (preflight, underwriting, processing, and closing).
Essential Job Functions
- Executes the business and strategic plan for the credit union and provide market insights, risks, and opportunities.
- Leads the commercial lending team and partner with other segment leaders to develop commercial banking initiatives.
- Sources new loan opportunities in all aspects of Commercial Lending
- Manages a financial plan/budget, analyze, and interpret business results, report on variances, and develops strategies and tactics to achieve all relevant business and financial plans.
- Collaborates with leadership in creation of the department’s budget. Directs and oversees the production activities and results of the commercial teams.
- Maintains acceptable credit quality for the commercial lending group.
- Serves on relevant credit union committees.
- Represents the credit union and participate in community events/causes/activities.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Position Required Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ten-fifteen (10-15) years’ experience in the commercial lending, credit experience, and loan production within the financial services industry and at least five (5) years of supervisory experience In-depth knowledge of Commercial, Commercial Real Estate, and Government Guaranteed Lending along with compliance, credit, and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Jack Henry & Associates (“JHA”). Professional written, verbal communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to produce quality work within tight time frames while managing multiple assignments. Ability to work on core processing systems (JHA) and department specific processing systems. The position requires a strong work ethic, the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing deadlines, advanced interpersonal skills, excellent communication, and the desire to work as a team to support the overall success of the credit union. Strong knowledge base about all types of conventional lending. Additionally, they must possess a strong knowledge of both the SBA 7(a), SBA 504, and USDA loan programs, policies, and procedures.
