Title: ASES-AOK Site Coordinator II
Salary Schedule Range: 39
Purpose of Position: Under the general direction of the Coordinator of After School Programs, perform a variety of duties to manage daily operation of the ASES program at a designated school site. (101-200 students.)
Reporting: Reports to an assigned supervisor.
Employment Status: Half-time, 4.25 hours per day; assigned hours may vary.
Location: After School Program site.
Essential Functions:
Supervise ASES-AOK program activities and insure safety of students.
Supervise program leaders, both District and those from outside agencies.
Participate in evaluation of program leader job performance and effectiveness.
Monitor use of equipment, materials and supplies; request additional materials as needed.
Communicate with site administrator, teachers, parents, community partners, and other ASES-AOK staff.
Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere for students, teachers, parents and staff.
Maintain attendance logs, time sheets, accident reports and surveys as needed.
Verify accuracy of monthly time report.
Act as a substitute program leader as required.
Maintain punctual and consistent attendance.
Other Functions:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
Both inside work with no exposure to weather conditions, and outside work with exposure to weather.
Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read a variety of documents; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; sitting for extended periods of time, standing, kneeling, bending or crouching; reaching overhead, or above the shoulders, to retrieve and store materials.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of general supervision techniques.
Ability to work independently or with direct limited supervision.
Ability to collaborate with others on projects and activities.
Ability to assist children with homework.
Ability to operate a variety of contemporary office equipment or computers and proprietary or mass market software applications, such as MS Word and Google Suite.
Ability to use correct English vocabulary, punctuation and grammar.
Ability to use appropriate telephone and e-mail etiquette.
Ability to interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, school staff, community partners and co-workers.
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; K12 teaching experience preferred, but consideration will be given to applicants who passed the CBEST and have a minimum of two (2) years documented equivalent work experience. Two (2) years experience working with elementary school age children in an academic and enrichment program.
Additional Requirements:
Valid California Driver’s License.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Must be fluent in English; Spanish speaking skills preferred but not required.
