CHS COLOR GUARD COACH
JOB SUMMARY: To instruct all students in the fundamental skills and knowledge of the sport or activity. To provide an atmosphere for successful individual development through monitoring, evaluating, and reinforcing.
SALARY: $1500
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ability to develop drill and practice activities that teach and enhance individual/team skill development.
2. Develop and maintain an inventory list of equipment.
3. Prepares and implements a schedule of checking out, maintaining, and checking in equipment.
4. Ability to plan and enforce appropriate safety and health rules and regulations.
5. Ability to develop a supervision plan that ensures the safety and welfare of students at all times.
6. Maintains confidentiality about students and others.
7. Presents a professional appearance.
8. Ability to be an effective communicator with all audiences - players, parents, supervisors, peers and spectators.
9. Ability to receive, understand and follow directions.
10. Be able to model/demonstrate activities and equipment used to develop basic skills or physical condition.
11. Ability to observe, diagnose, and prescribe appropriate remediation activities during practice.
12. Assimilate innovations and adapt to changes when applicable.
13. Establish fundamental philosophy for activity.
14. Instruct assistants in techniques necessary to meet philosophy objectives.
15. Analyze and evaluate effectiveness.
16. Responsible for providing training rules and expectations and seeing that rules are taught to each participant.
17. Assist in the scheduling of the activity.
18. Responsible for documenting the state and district’s requirements for physical examinations, parental consent and eligibility.
19. To develop and follow a budget in line with district’s guidelines and expectations.
20. Take responsibility for public relations with all audiences.
21. Manage through appropriate selection, assigning duties and responsibilities, and monitoring of assistants.
22. Support the philosophies of Park County School District #6.
23. Park County School District #6 Head Coaches assist in making recommendations/hiring of Middle School level coaches.
24. May be responsible for supervising students on out-of-town activities. This may involve staying overnight.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Ability to sit on a bus for extended periods of travel.
