Where you’ll work
This is a hybrid role, with an average of 3 days a week in our Bristol offices. There will be occasional on-site support to customers during ‘testing’ days and provide hands-on support through acceptance and release phases.
What you’ll do
- Drive quality and process improvement: Champion and implement best practices to enhance testing strategies, processes, and quality across projects, while advising on test estimations and technical considerations.
- Integrate seamlessly into development teams: Actively engage in agile ceremonies and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood, implementable and testable.
- Test planning, execution, and management: Design, execute, and manage test plans and test cases. Engaging in defect triage sessions through to issue resolution, and comprehensive reporting of testing outcomes.
- Customer and deployment support: Provide expert support through acceptance, release, and deployment phases, acting as a trusted adviser to ensure seamless delivery and successful outcomes.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Coach and mentor colleagues, fostering a collaborative team culture, and advocate for quality testing.
What you’ll bring
- Testing expertise: Experience of testing using multiple methodologies in software integration projects and proficiency in designing and documenting test strategies, plans, detailed test cases, clear execution records, reporting, and release documentation.
- Automation and CI/CD: Experience of working with APIs and scripting with popular languages such as bash, Python, JSON, Kotlin, as well as familiarity with tools such as Appium, Espresso, and CI/CD platforms including Jenkins and GitLab CI.
- Collaboration and communication: Confidence in customer-facing roles and wider project team environments; participating in or leading product demos and facilitating discussions around software testing and release planning whilst promoting effective use of Agile methodologies and tools (such as Jira and Confluence).
- Hardware and software integration: An aptitude for testing software with hardware systems and troubleshooting interoperability issues.
Desirable skills
- Experience building and maintaining automated regression test suites
- A proactive approach to adopting new tools and techniques
- ISTQB or equivalent certifications
- Knowledge of performance, security, exploratory testing, software & hardware integration, containerised environments and cloud platforms
- Proficient with hands-on integration testing between Android and Server-based software and hardware
- Familiarity and experience with mobile and tablet based MDMs, their capabilities and functions at an OS level
- Experience in working with supporting IDEs such as Android Studio, IntelliJ and containerised solutions such as Docker, and sever-side tooling
- Solid understanding of Github Actions and build pipelines and processes
