Under the direction of the Sales & Client Development Manager, this position is responsible for developing new business and enhancing relationships by meeting the product and service needs of clients and prospects utilizing a consultative sales process that includes analyzing cash flow and operations, structuring a client specific treasury management solution, and formulating a sales and presentation strategy to achieve goals and increase fee income.
Responsibilities
- Formulates client specific marketing strategies for assigned territory. Maintains an effective, active and volume driven calling effort to develop new business with existing and prospective clients. Advises client/prospect on product selection and account structuring. Proactively cross-sells and refers as appropriate all Bank products and services such as Deposit, Merchant, Investment, Insurance, Trust, Private and Personal Banking services.
- Prepares and presents professionally written and well-articulated proposals, recommending products and services that would be of value to the client/prospect. Responds to Requests for Proposals, formulating strategy necessary to win bid and achieve targeted risk-adjusted returns on the relationship.
- Maintains a scheduled calling program for existing clients to ensure high-quality servicing and identify additional needs to enhance relationships. Makes joint calls with Product Specialists, Relationship Officers, Division, Senior or Executive Management as needed. Maintains documentation of the sales process to insure complete sales coverage of the assigned territory and monitor/report progress in achieving sales and performance goals.
- Follows-up with clients and prospects to close sales. Obtains fully executed contracts and documentation and directs implementation with the appropriate Service areas.
- (Level III) Assists in the recruitment, training, development and motivation of Cash Management Officers I/II. Assists with achievement of departmental sales goals by providing advice, direction and guidance, including making joint sales calls and participating in periodic assessment and evaluation. Assists in the development and implementation of marketing, sales and retention strategies and promotional programs to achieve overall department and Bank goals
- Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution, equivalent work experience or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation.
- Experience: Level is dependent on years of experience and size/complexity of prior positions held.
- Level II: Minimum I - 2 years of directly applicable banking or other treasury management experience including direct customer contact, or equivalent work experience.
- Level III: Minimum 4 - 5 years successful client management experience in banking, including direct customer contact in the middle market or equivalent work experience. Should include 1 - 2 years team leader/supervisory experience. Must have experience handling portfolio of loans/clients/contracts
- Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software including cash management and electronic banking systems.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Must be detail oriented, and organized. Demonstrated ability to handle portfolio responsibility. Requires strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of treasury management, short term investments and the bank payment system. Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Should have effective interpersonal and supervisory skills and a collaborative management style to include teamwork, team building, conflict management, negotiating and problem solving skills. Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed. Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license, Able to travel by air as necessary.
