SUMMARY
- The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment reliability, plant safety, and operational efficiency. This role is critical to supporting FlexSteel’s pipe manufacturing operations by minimizing downtime, extending asset life, and enabling continuous production flow. The Maintenance Manager will personally oversee key maintenance functions while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and manage all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance across the manufacturing site.
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Coordinate facility, equipment, and utility shutdowns using approved business tools and systems.
- Manage departmental budgets and report on actual vs. planned costs.
- Oversee spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
- Supervise installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment.
- Maintain and update Master Equipment List (MEL) and Equipment Capability Statements.
- Collaborate with HSE and IT teams to maintain safety systems and site security infrastructure.
- Support capital projects including planning, budgeting, and execution.
- Analyze recurring maintenance issues and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Provide accurate labor and cost estimates for maintenance activities.
- Drive internal and external training programs for maintenance personnel.
- Issue routine and special reports as required by leadership.

- Directly supervise 15-20 maintenance personnel, including coordinators and technicians (electrical, mechanical, facility, and shift).
- Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and employee development.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred) with 10–15 years of experience, or High School/GED with 15–20 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in pipe or industrial equipment.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude, with hands-on experience in plant machinery and controls.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks.
- Experience with MVOne maintenance management software is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety procedures, and engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

- Field, Branch, Shop, & Plant Positions: This position operates in an industrial/field environment. The role requires working in and around manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials. While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)
- Climb stairs and ladders
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
- Work in confined spaces when required
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools
- Perform repetitive movements

- Work in high places and confined spaces
- Exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals
- Work around moving mechanical parts
- Work in hot and cold temperatures
