We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Director in the Global Derivative Reconciliations team of MSIM (Morgan Stanley Investment Management) Derivative Operation group to support MSIM Middle Office in Europe and North America. The team covers broker, custodian, fund accountant and client reconciliation for all derivative asset classes including but not limited to F&O, IRS, CDS, CDX, and TRS. The team is also responsible for the processing of life cycle events for all OTC derivatives. The Derivative team also process Margins for cleared, OTC and Futures trades.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships.  This is an Advanced Specialist position within the Product Support & Services group, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

What you'll do in the role

  • Manage complex processes and/or support significant process management/project efforts.
  • Lead in process improvement, project management or technology development and testing across multiple teams and/or divisions.
  • Analyze and expose ambiguous, complex issues or non-standard issues, identify risks, root causes and propose future actions, tracking through to resolution.
  • Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations.
  • Provide OTC and cleared derivative collateral management support through liaising with various investment teams.
  • Provide functional support to portfolio managers, traders, analysts and portfolio administrators for Eaton Vance's portfolio and order management systems.
  • Responsible for monitoring derivative trade capture, affirmations, confirmations, and settlements.
  • Reconciliation of derivative positions and MTM valuations.
  • Work with brokers, administrators and custodian banks to communicate derivative life cycle events.
  • Identify and resolve problems related to transactions or investment data in a timely fashion following established guidelines.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of derivative trading in new funds and accounts by assisting with ISDA and other documentation requests.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Front-to-back knowledge of the processes, projects, systems, markets and instruments that influence their team with a comprehensive understanding of job-related operational/compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget.
  • Ability to address non-standard issues within area of expertise-Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you.
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in financial services, with at least 2 years in a leading team.
  • Strong knowledge of portfolio reconciliation processes.
  • Proven experience with derivatives products and their reconciliation.
