Are you ready for your next challenge? We're looking for a motivated and experienced candidate to lead driver training across our Thames, West London, Northampton, Hemel, and Hythe depots.

As Regional Training Manager, you'll be the driving force behind delivering first-class driver qualification training and fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement. You'll lead by example, managing and supporting a team across multiple locations to maintain top-tier standards and ensure compliance with KPIs.

This is a hands-on, visible role working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday), with regular travel across your region. You’ll work closely with Transport Managers, SHEQ, and depot teams—playing a key part in developing our drivers, enhancing performance, and living our Greenergy values: Respect, Ownership, Care, and Integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver all driver training within the region and ensure all drivers are up to date with the required qualifications
  • Undertake duties and promote a controlled, pragmatic approach without detriment to compliance, business quality or safety
  • Ensure that all paperwork has been signed off and uploaded to the relevant departments
  • Lead by example to drive consistency and continuous improvement, whilst motivating direct reports to ensure they are championing a positive/ coherent team culture across the entire region
  • General administration duties as required, including writing reports and uploading of paperwork onto the relevant systems
  • Competent in leading training-based projects
  • Plan and arrange new starter training programmes
  • Deliver relevant business training to office and management teams as required
  • Identify and monitor training needs within the region, and design, plan and implement training programmes, policies and procedures to fulfil those needs
  • Work closely with the Transport Managers to organise and implement driver return to work training
  • Advise and coach drivers on driving style and improving efficiency
  • Review flagged Samsara (Vehicle Telematics) events in conjunction with the Transport Managers and put plans in place to coach drivers on improving their driving skills as a result
  • Work alongside our SHEQ department to ensure safety is a key and natural part of
    the activities undertaken by drivers
  • Work within the Driver Training team to improve and work on new training projects
  • Drive overhead reduction by taking responsibility for leading the fuel consumption improvement project for their relevant driver team
  • Other duties and travelling as reasonably required or as identified to support the developing Strategy of the business
  • Assist in the RTW and IWSA processes in collaboration with the SHEQ and Transport teams

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:
  • HGV Class C+E driving qualification
  • Driver assessor qualification 
  • PDP, ADR, CPC qualified 
  • Can-do attitude with the strength of character to drive strong compliance
  • Good communication skills 
  • Proactive approach to workload 
  • Able to work on own and as part of a team 
Desirable:
  • Teaching qualification, PETTLES etc ADR Instructor  
  • SAFED Trainer qualified 
  • Experience in the fuel industry as a driver trainer
  • Previous experience in a leadership position
