Job Description
Job Summary
This role is the strategic anchor for material procurement and supply chain execution with Cognex-approved Contract Manufacturers. You’ll lead the charge in aligning forecasts, managing supplier performance, and driving operational excellence across the board.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for ensuring seamless material flow, accurate forecasting, and supplier accountability:
- Issue monthly CM forecasts, including EOL and NINA products, and ensure timely execution
- Manage material scheduling and requirements with Contract Manufacturers
- Drive execution of all material expedites with CM partners
- Maintain supplier commit accuracy within SAP
- Provide customer-aligned supply schedules and consistently meet delivery commitments
- Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews to assess Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance
- Report quarterly on excess and obsolete inventory at CM sites
- Conduct weekly analysis of Cognex ship dates versus customer request dates
- Own and optimize key performance indicators, including:
- Invoice Issue Log
- Receiving Issues Log
- MRB (Material Review Board)
- ECO/PCO tracking
- AP/AR reconciliation
- Inventory sales metrics
Skills and Expertise
You bring a sharp analytical mindset, strong supplier management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving:
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Skilled in vendor negotiation and commitment management
- Strong data analysis capabilities
- Proven ability to manage suppliers to meet evolving requirements
- Agile in adjusting schedules to meet shifting priorities
- SAP experience is a strong advantage
- Ability to interpret ECOs, BOMs, and process flows
- Proficient in MS Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in a similar procurement or supply chain role
- Demonstrated success in data analysis and supplier performance management
