At Lilly, the Global Scientific Communication team have a mission to make Lilly research meaningful for external audiences through clear and memorable communications. In collaboration with medical experts worldwide our team lead the creation and coordination of manuscripts for peer-reviewed scientific journals, and abstracts, posters and presentations for congresses.
As a student, you can be part of our diverse and dynamic team of scientific writing experts. You can learn about the innovative treatments developed at Lilly, understand the process of developing scientific publications within the pharmaceutical industry, develop knowledge of the software and tools used in developing and tracking scientific publications, build therapeutic area knowledge, and enhance your project management and learn about the scientific writing process.
Responsibilities:
- Support activities related to publications including abstracts, posters, manuscripts and presentations. For example, activities may include but are not limited to:
- Contributing to the development of meeting slides.
- Generating graphs, figures and tables for use in scientific publications.
- Gathering required submission information for target journals and congresses.
- Support scientific writers with the coordination and tracking of publication activities from start to submission and publication.
- Ensure compliance, accurate record keeping, and timeline tracking.
- Support scientific writers during creation of publications including preparatory work, stakeholder engagement, editing & data presentation.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in 3rd level education and ready to pursue student placement as part of an undergraduate program.
- An interest in scientific communication and translating complex science into engaging, clear and memorable publication deliverables.
- Advanced written and verbal English skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software (including Word, Powerpoint and Excel).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisation, documentation and record management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
