Job Description:

** The Mechanic must be willing to relocate to Kwajalein Island, Marshall Islands. This position is not a hybrid or rotating opportunity.

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Mechanic with construction project experience to join our team!

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Disassembling and overhauling gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and other assemblies.
  • Follows checklist for various equipment to complete preventive maintenance, inspections, and servicing requirements according to client/customer orders and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical and air operated hoists, winches, and floor cranes.
  • Replaces worn and broken parts. Cleans and spot paints according to the clients expectations.
  • Grinds valves, adjusts brakes, tightens bolts, and aligns wheels.
  • Uses hoists wrenches, gauges, drills, grinders, timing machines, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Retains records of time and materials used until submitted to maintenance supervisor.
  • Perform operational tests and adjustments on air conditioning and heating units following client directives, manufacturer's guidelines, engineering orders, and recognized procedures.
  • Reviews Blueprints and Tech Orders to determine location of parts, routing of ducts, specified air pressure, and temperatures.
  • Sets controls to various temperatures and pressures to determine if operation is satisfactory.
  • Observes thermometers and manometers, receives data from test and compares system performance with specifications.
  • Adjusts thermostats' mixing and check valves, airflow devices, and ducting. Measures compressor pressure to determine efficiency.
  • Tests, adjusts, and repairs hydraulic units and assemblies such as valves, pumps, and regulators to meet the client's and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Fabricates replacement parts, when required, from stock materials, using broken parts as patterns.
  • Conducts stress test and load test to ensure that proper safety margins are met.
  • Installs, adjusts, maintains, and repairs gasoline turbine engines and support equipment and assemblies following Tech Orders and manufacturer's specifications, engineering principles, and recognized test procedures.
  • Installs wiring and tubing between equipment, switchboards, and control panels.
  • Analyzes intricate Technical Requirements of customer and determines feasibility of modifications to present equipment.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Typically 10+ years of related experience.
  • Prior US federal government project and overseas remote location experience preferred.
  • Must be capable of working from stands and ladder well above ground.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
  • Must have valid US passport.

Salary Range: $15.68 - $71.30
